A violin can play more notes per minute than a bowed double bass.
The warm depth of the double bass needs longer and thicker strings than the violin.
The strings of the double bass will need considerably longer to fall in vibration and produce a sound.
A deep, warm, voluminous voice speaks slower than a high, young voice.
This has purely physical reasons. Hans-Jörg's vocal cords are longer and considerably thicker than the cords of a high-talking, young man. His vocal cords, therefore, need more time to fall in vibration.
Hans-Jörg speaks 826 "characters with spaces“ (a value that the text processing program reveals) per minute. For example, suppose your German text has 2.065 "characters with spaces". Divided by 826 = 2,5. This are 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Interestingly, for your audience 820-850 "characters with spaces" is the most enjoyable speed with which a person speaks, since the amount of information which can be understood by hearing is limited. Endless fast talking voices are perceived by listeners as unpleasant and overwhelming.
